#NIGERIA DECIDES2023: Sanwo-Olu heading for landslide victory, clears 18 of 19 LGs declared by INEC

Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State is heading for a landslide victory in the Governorship election conducted in the state on Saturday, 18 March, 2023.
The state’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared results from 19 out of the 20 local governments in the state with the outstanding result from Eti-Osa Local Government being expected.
Rerun election is being held in 10 polling units in Eti-Osa Local Government where elections were postponed on Saturday, 18 March, 2023.
In the 19 local governments declared so far, Sanwo-Olu and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have won in 18 while the Labour Party and its candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour won only in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
As at the time the collation of results was adjourned, Sanwo-Olu and APC have polled 720,555; the Labour Party scored 287,595 votes while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Abdul Azeez Olajide Adediran polled 60,934 votes.
