As Nigerians troop out to elect new leaders, one of the registered political parties, Action Alliance (AA), has instructed its members to keep away from the Presidential and National Assembly elections holding today, February 25, 2023.
Speaking with our correspondent on the phone, on Saturday morning, the authentic National Chairman of the Party, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje, explained the reason for the Party’s decision saying, exclusion of the constitutionally-recognised candidates of the Party informed the boycott.

Aggrieved Omo-Aje also informed The Nigerian Xpress that the Party had gone beyond the boycott as it had started preparations towards rigorous litigation. He assured that all the stakeholders involved had been informed of what they should do in preparation for the legal battle ahead.
The Ede, Osun State-born politician then made available to our correspondent, a copy of a statement towards the subject matter.
The statement is reproduced below:
“Consequent upon our party boycott of the Presidential and National Assembly polls, we are in the process of collating materials needed to prove our case at the tribunal as soon as they come alive by their inaugurations.
“The Presidential tribunal shall be handled from the Headquarters of our party, while the National Assembly shall be handled at the state levels. However, it is necessary to lead you all into the knowledge that no tribunal petition can be filed at whatever level without the National Office of the party. This is par the new Electoral Acts, as amended.
“For the foregoing therefore, all candidates interested in filing petition at the tribunal, should laissez with the National Secretariat for documentation support with filing materials.
“Please note, that we have just 21 days after the conduct of the elections to conclude all petition filings. For this, all interested candidates are advised to move swiftly, by contacting the National Chairman, and/or the National Secretary.”
