A faith-based organisation, under the aegis of Greenfaith Niger Delta Chapter, in collaboration with Lekeh Development Foundation, on Monday, protested to the Rivers State House Assembly, on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, seeking an end to the deadly air pollution known as ‘Soot’.

Pupils from Young Women Christian Association Group of School, and some students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, also joined in the protest that seeks lawmakers and the government at all levels to fight against fossil fuel and promote the use of renewable energy.

Executive Director of Lekeh Development Foundation, Mr. Friday Mbani, said they embarked on the protest to attract the attention of government on the need to make policy that will stop all activities that causes climate change, which include gas flaring, leading to the air borne diseases.
