More than 50 per cent of the houses have been rebuilt so far, according to the National Reconstruction Authority.
Out of a total of 7,553 school buildings, around 4,000 have been reconstructed so far, according to the agency.
On Thursday, Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed a memorial service at Kathmandu Durbar Square, which was in ruins following the earthquake in 2015.
“We will make sure that these temples and monuments retain their traditional design and structure,” he said.
The earthquake affected the country’s 14 districts including the capital Kathmandu.
Four years later, the survivors, who live in the country’s remote mountain communities have struggled to rebuild their houses due to poverty, according to reports in local media. (NAN)
