Naira Marley, ‘Tunde Gbadamosi agree to apologise to Buhari, Sanwo-Olu as Lagos govt. withdraw charges against them

The Lagos State Government has withdrawn the charges filed against singer, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and a former governorship candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi.

Both men, alongside the politician’s wife, were arraigned before a Magistrate court, in Ogba, on Wednesday, for flouting social distancing order of the government.

One of the defence counsel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), who spoke to journalists after their arraignment, said the state government decided to withdraw the charges after the singer and the politician agreed to tender an apology to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for flouting the directive to stay at home.

They were arrested for attending a House Party organised by actress, Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, at their Amen Estate residence, in Lagos Island, last Sunday.

Mrs. Akindele-Bello, otherwise called Jenifa, and her husband were arraigned on Monday, April 6, and sentenced to 14 days community service. They were also fined N100, 000 each.
