Monitor vote counting from safe distance, Lagos CP urges electorate

Lagos State Commissioner of Police,  CP Zubairu Muazu  has said voters who want to stay back  and monitor their votes been counted can do so from a far distance.  

Muazu who stated this while on patrol around Oshodi, Mushin and Ikeja axis of the state said so far there has not been any security hitch.

While briefing journalists the Commissioner of Police said no act of hooliganism or thuggery will be tolerated.  “ We have visited some centres where election materials are supposed to move to, everything is going on well,  the polling units are well secured.
“The INEC staff are on ground distributing the materials. The few polling units we have visited are all orderly and there is security presence and people are casting their votes.
“ There is no adverse information anywhere,  we have gotten reports from all parts of Lagos and there is no adverse report.  When voters cast their votes,  those wishing to stay back and see their votes countered can stay.
‘They are free to do so from a safe distance.  We are not going to tolerate  any act of hooliganism or thuggery in any polling unit. After counting they can go home.  We have enough patrol team.”
