A 32-year-old man, identified as Ahmed Segun was, on Tuesday shot dead, by a mobile policeman, at the Idimu area of Lagos State.
Information had it that the policemen, whose whereabouts was unknown as at press time, was attached to a car shop at Council area of Ikotun Road, Idimu.
Segun and his friend had reportedly visited the car shop when an argument ensued between them and the policeman.
While the argument lasted, the policeman reportedly ordered Segun to leave the premises. The deceased refused and in the process was shot dead by the policeman.
Reacting to the killing, some youth and friends of the deceased, attempted to set the car shop ablaze, but for the timely intervention of police team from Idimu Police Division and other neighbouring Divisions.

Giving details on the crisis, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Elkana Bala, said the command was investigating the matter.
Bala said, “ The Command received a distress call that some youths armed with dangerous weapons attacked a car stand at Council Area, Ikotun road, Idimu, and about to set the building ablaze. Police teams from Idimu and neighboring Police stations were mobilized to the scene. Reinforcements were also sent from the Rapid Response squads.
“Preliminary investigation showed that the youths were reacting to the death of one of their own known as Ahmed Segun purported to have been shot by a Mobile Policeman protecting the company.
“Eyewitnesses stated that there was an argument that ensued between the Mobile Policeman and the deceased which led to a physical confrontation.
“Some of the eyewitnesses narrated that the deceased person and his friends made an attempt to forcefully gain access into the company but were resisted by the Mobile Policeman which resulted into a fight and eventual shooting of the deceased person.”
Bala further revealed that the group was notorious for harassing people in the area.
On the mobile policemen, he said, “ The whereabouts of the said Mobile Policeman is unknown.
“It is not also certain whether he is dead or alive. The Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu has ordered an in-dept investigation into the case.”
