Man who steals cars with Master Key arrested in Lagos

A suspect, allegedly notorious for snatching vehicles from park, have been arrested by operatives of the Mushin Olosan Police Division, Lagos State Police Command.

The suspect, Ebosie Ogochukwu, met his waterloo after he had stolen a Honda City Saloon car, with Registration Number LAGOS KRD 755 AX, at Fatai Atere Way in Mushin.
The vehicle allegedly belonged to Farest Mechantile Company Limited, located at Mushin, a company where he had worked before he was sacked.
The Imo state born Ogochukwu was arrested after the company’s security guard had reported the incident to the police division on September 15, 2019.
On the strength of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Mushin Olosan, Ayodele Arogbo, a Superintendent of Police, deployed detectives to recover the vehicle.
The vehicle was recovered at Iponri area, where Ogochukwu was about selling it off for N400,000.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a police officer at the Division told The Nigerian Xpress that the suspect used master key to access vehicles. He had also been charged to court and remanded in prison custody.
According to the officer, “ The vehicle was traced to western Avenue area of Surulere Lagos, while the suspect was negotiating to sell the vehicle that costs N2.5 Million, for N400,000.
“ The suspects confessed that he left Imo state for Lagos in search of a greener pasture. He said that was is first time of stealing a vehicle, as he wanted o sell the vehicle to raise money to start a business.
“ Investigation however revealed that he specialised in the act, as he uses master key to gain access to the vehicle and then sell it off at a giveaway price.
“ He had also worked at the company briefly before he was sacked. He has been charged to court Magistrate Court 2, and remanded in prison custody.”
