A 29-year-old man, Owolabi Folorunso, has told the police how he killed his 99-year-old aunty because she had bewitched him and made it impossible for him to win Baba Ijebu lotto.
The suspect who was arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command on Monday, March 3, 2019, had butchered the aged woman identified as Ebunola Aroboto with a cutlass.
It was learnt that concerned neighbours at Maraisa Lane Igan road Ago-Iwoye, who had tried to stop Folorunso, were threatened by the suspect. The DPO Ago-Iwoye Police Division, CSP Ade Adedoyin was however alerted to the incident.
According to the confessional statement made by the suspect, he had an inclination that the woman was responsible for most of his spiritual problems.

He lamented saying, “ I am regular player of Baba Ijebu lotto and whenever I am sure of wining, my father’s elder sister will use her supernatural power to change the wining number.”
The Ogun State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said the DPO had responded swiftly to the distress call which led to the arrest of the suspect.
“On receiving the distress call, the DPO quickly led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and the cutlass which he used to wreck the havoc was also recovered.
“On interrogation, the suspect admitted killing the old woman with matchete. The body of the deceased has been deposited at Ijebu-Ode general hospital mortuary for post mortem examination,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department DCP Wale Abass to take over the case and see to diligent prosecution of the suspect.
