Majemite mourns late Delta commissioner, Kenneth Okpara

Mr. Fred Majemite, a two-time Commissioner and a frontline governorship aspirant for the Delta State 2023 election, has expressed shock at the news of the demise of Olorogun Kenneth Okpara, a former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, in the state.

Okpara had reportedly passed on in the early hours of Friday, November 19.

Mr. Majemite noted that he had had fruitful discussion with the late Okpara when they met during the DC-23 screening held two weeks ago, in Sapele.

Mr. Majemite, who described Chief Kenneth Okpara as a ‘friend and an illustrious Urhobo son’, noted further that the deceased’s intellectual prowess in economic matters and his dedication to Urhobo course were worthy of emulation.

While mourning the demise of Okpara, Majimite equally expressed his condolences to the entire Agbon Kingdom over the death of their illustrious son.

Meanwhile, Mr. Majemite has called on his campaign organisation to suspend all activities indefinitely to honour Kenneth Okpara.

According to him, “As a respect to late Chief Kenneth Okpara, my friend and one of Urhobo’s foremost Accountants/ Technocrats in his time, l have directed the Director-General of my campaign organisation to suspend all the activities lined up by my office at the State and Local Government levels indefinitely.

“It is my prayer that on the ressurection day, we shall meet again and reign with Christ, our Lord, our savior, the center of our faith’. My his soul rest in peace,” Majemite stated.
