Madam Vice President: Social media erupts as Kamala Harris become US first woman VP

She has scored many firsts. She is the first woman to ever be elected Vice President; first black woman vice president and first Asian American to be elected vice president.
Social media was abuzz when the news of Joe Biden winning the keenly contested US presidential election emerged, on Saturday.
Celebrities in Nigeria and beyond congratulated Harris who would be assuming the office of the Vice President in January.
Harris had in video footage called the President-elect, Joe Biden to congratulate him.
“We did it. We did it, Joe. You’re going to become the next president of the United States”, she said.
Former President Barack Obama congratulated Harris and called their victory ‘groundbreaking’.
“I could not be prouder to congratulate our next President, Joe Biden, and our next First Lady, Jill Biden. I also couldn’t be prouder to congratulate Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff for Kamala’s groundbreaking election as our next Vice President,” Obama said on Facebook.
Rev. Jesse Jackson Jackson Harris is a blessing to the world.
“Madam Vice-President-elect @KamalaHarris: History beckoned and you answered. You are fully prepared. Your mother&father rejoice today as you are the great dividend of their dreams& investment. You are a blessing to our nation&world for years to come. Continue to #KeepHopeAlive, ” he said on Twitter.
Harris is 56 years old.
