“It was only their father we tried to pull out of the wreckage, but as God may have it, nothing serious happened to him.”

The incident was said to have caused hours of serious gridlock on the ever-busy Aba/Owerri Road.

Road accidents have claimed several lives in Nigeria in recent times due mainly to deplorable roads, carelessness and poorly maintained vehicles.

In Bauchi State, for instance, no fewer than 16 persons were feared killed in multiple accidents at the weekend.

Bauchi State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, adding that the accident occurred in Bambal village on Kano-Jama’are Road.
