Love gone sour: Finally, police arraign lover of mother of 3

The Police in Lagos have arraigned Mr. Emeka Ohanechesi, lover of mother of three, for threatening the life of Mr. Paul Ihechukwu.

The Nigerian Xpress had reported how the mother of three dumped her husband of over 11 years, for her church member lover. She had vowed that her marriage was irredeemable and advised her estranged husband  to go and marry another woman after he must have made money to afford necessities of life like other men. She also said her husband’s attitude pushed her into extramarital affairs.

According to Paul, the marriage ran into troubled waters in 2008, shortly after their wedding. On many occasions, she discovered his wife’s lose association with  Emeka Ohaechesi, a member of their church. She had also confessed and being the loving husband, he always forgave her until he could no longer endure it.

Informing Emeka’s wife only worsened the matter, as the woman defended her husband. he alleged that they threatened to harm him with support of his wife, prompting him to go into hiding.

To add salt to injury, Emeka sent him a letter through his lawyer, demanding that he should debunk all his allegations in three national daily newspapers and also tender an apology letter within 14 days of receiving the letter.

Initially, Emeka had denied the allegations. However, when confronted with the evidences Paul said he had on the matter, he said he did not want any problem with his lover’s husband. According to him, his lawyer that wrote the petition went beyond his brief, as all he wanted was to frighten Paul so that if he is planning anything against him, he would stop it.

In her own reaction, Mrs. Ihechukwu blamed her husband’s suspicious nature for her going into romance with her church member.

However, Paul’s major problem is the whereabouts of his children whom the wife took away after allegedly emptying his house of his belongings.

A police source at Okokomaiko Police Station, told the reporter that Mr. Paul lodged a complaint of threat to life, and forceful taking of his children and wife to unknown destination by Emeka. Our source said the matter has been reported to the Divisional Police Officer, and is currently being investigated.

Consequently, Emeka was finally arraigned before Magistrate G. L. Hotepo, of Badary Magistrate Court, Lagos. He was arraigned on Thursday, September 5, 2019, on five count charges, which he pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The Investigating Police Officer, (IPO), woman Sergeant Oselukwue Eunice, told the court that after investigation and reviewing the evidence before her at the station, the suspect has a case to answer.

The suspect was granted bail with N 100,000,  two sureties, who must be residents of the Magisterial District.

The case was adjourned to October 10, 2019.
