From her grand entrance into the premises of the unveiling of the 2019 edition of the BBNaija housemates held in Lagos; Mercy already signalled her determination to run an unbeatable race in the house, writes Mutiat Lawore
Just like its theme – Pepper dem, Mercy’s first appearance in a black sequence see-through dress blew the mind of the audience away, as she made her way to the stage. Amazingly, when asked if that was part of her strategies; the curvy light skin Imo State-born diva disclosed that her aim in the show is to be as real as possible and as well win the heart of many towards achieving her winning goal.
Barely seven days into the game, however, cupid love played a fast one on her. She got herself entangled in the love web of one of the housemates, Ikechukwu Onyema, a U.S. returnee.
Until Sunday, July 14, 2019 when Ella, another housemate was evicted, Mercy’s place in the heart of Ike was not assured.
With Ella out of the way, Mercy and Ike have consistently expressed deep affection for each otherr, saying they intend to continue with the affair even after the BBNaija game is over. They have stood themselves out as lovebirds, eating, winning, perking and virtually doing everything together.

However, eight weeks into the game, Mercy, who loves cooking, swimming, traveling and dancing remains one of the most talked-about housemates.
Popularly referred to as Lamborghini Mercy for her curvy hip and sensuous bum, this fair- complexioned with, with her fashion sense and good looks, has kept viewers wanting more and more of her in the house.
For instance, research reveals that she is the number one housemate searched for on Google, with Tacha, Mike and Seyi, taking spots two to four, respectively
Her slogan all the while has remained, “Flaunt what you’ve got”.
With a face and body to die for; Lamborghini Mercy, as she is fondly called by her friends, fans and her many chats with her co-housemates to flirting with Gedoni and wowing male housemates at the Jacuzzi with her curvy body, Mercy is living up to her expectations.
This young lady is more popular and favoured for her amiable and generous personality. She has showcased this many times when she let out her beautiful wigs to other housemates for the weekly Saturday parties.
Despite having several arguments all the time, most especially after the Saturday gig; Mercy and Ike have shown commitment to the love they claim to share.
From hanging around together to being a team mate in most challenges, they have both won N2 million at the “Munch It” challenge.
So dedicated are the duo to the relationship that when asked by the TV Host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, why their relationship has been blowing hot and cold, Ike responded that such is peculiar in every healthy relationship.
“Every healthy relationship must definitely have its fair share of challenges and we have built up over time to be stronger in the house,” he said.
Most commendable, however, is her principle of “No sex till after the show”.
Unlike other reports of happenings of sex on the programme since it took off, more Nigerians have become drawn to her by this one stand. Even when she became the Head of the House (HOH) last week, they were both applauded for staying committed to this rule.
A fan recently wrote and sent this to all to see, “I am seriously into Mercy. Despite her weird nature, she insisted that there is nothing like having sex on a national television. Whao! It is Mercy, Mercy all the way.”
Even when on several occasions, Ike had shown the urge to wanting Mercy badly in bed, this alluring lady stood her ground. She always had her way of calming the situation, using other means like foreplay, among others.
Of more interest is the fact that Mercy, who came into the Big Brother House with a vibrator to help her sexual urge should the need arise, has never been caught using it.

Her blunt side
Although she interacts well with her fellow housemates, one thing that separates her from a few is her blunt nature. Mercy is said to be the type that calls a spade a spade whenever the need arises. She is equally never one-sided but can be judgmental on certain cases.
Keeps escaping eviction
It usually comes as a surprise to many that oftentimes when Mercy is up for eviction; she comes comes, ranking with the highest votes and sometimes beating Tacha, the almighty Internet sensation.
A fashionista
To say that Mercy came prepared for the show is an understatement. Ahe is one of the female housemates, who, since the beginning of the show, has never repeated an outfit twice. Needless to say that should the organisers fail to provide the usual Saturday party wears for the housemates; Mercy would definitely appear, as cute if not cuter.
While Mercy rates top on the list of Nigerians’ favourites of the housemates for this year’s edition of BBNaija, her votes have remained more. But why? The Nigerian Xpress sought the views of some Nigerians.
Mrs. Tinuola Alao, a trader, gave this reason: “I love Mercy since the day she entered into the house. She is the real pepper and sauce in the house; others are just faking it. She is 100% real and deserves to win.”
Ex-BBN housemate, Uti Nwachukwu is also her big fan. ‘No contest, Mercy is definitely wining this year’s Big Brother; congratulation in advance. The rest peep and their fans can fight for 2nd to 5th positions.”
Another fan, Damilola Oseni, believes she is the most deserving to win. She said, “For me, no better person deserves to win other than Mercy. She is real and never fakes it; she has all the qualities of a winner and I am sure Nigerians are watching and as well voting.”
So far, Lamborghini Mercy has earned herself a strike from Big Brother for getting violent once with Ike, the same lover she is involved with. But she keeps waxing stronger and stronger everyday. The poser today is just as Uti has said, is it possible that Mercy wins and goes home with the whoping N60 million with her committed fans and huge votes? Will she break the records by winning it this year as the first female winner of the BBNaija show? The game is just few weeks to go.
