Lagos Task Force issues removal order notice to owners, occupants of illegal structures at Fagba, Oko-Oba

The Lagos States Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Task Force), has issued a seven-day ‘Removal Order’ to owners and occupants of illegal structures around Fagba, along Abbatior new Oko-Oba area.

According to the Chairman of the Agency, Olayinka Egbeyemi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), the removal order became imperative, following criminal activities of miscreants hibernating the area.

The notice was delivered to occupants of the illegal structures by an enforcement team led by CSP Egbeyemi over the weekend.

The Agency disclosed that over 2500 illegal structure, shanties including containerised shops were served the removal order.

CSP Egbeyemi stated further that the shanties were occupied by miscreants, who burnt and destroyed both public and private properties along the axis during the last protest.

“The area was an eyesore with miscreants freely smoking Indian hemp, including under age boys around the area

“You will recall that as part on spot assessment of extent of destruction of both public and private properties by miscreants during the last protest Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Hakeem Odumosu visited Fagba along Abbatior new Oko-Oba area, ” he said.

He further revealed that residents around new Oko-Oba area could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed due to series of criminal activities perpetrated by miscreants from the marked area.

CSP Egbeyemi confirmed that CP Odumosu had directed the demolition of the illegal structures, on the expiration of the seven-day removal order.

The Agency’s Chairman also stated that any miscreants arrested during the enforcement operation will be charger to court for prosecution.

He, however, maintained that the Agency would not relent in delivering a safe environment for citizens within the state and the country at large.
