Lagos, Rivers, Delta top list of states with highest IGR

Lagos, Rivers and Delta states topped the list of states with the highest Internally Generated Revenue in the first half of 2019. The three states generated N263bn, N151bn, and N150bn, respectively according to the latest figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.

Similarly, the 36 states and the FCT also internally generated the sum of N691.11bn in the period under review. This figure indicates a growth of 15.78% from the N596.91bn recorded in the corresponding period in 2018.

Thirty-one (31) states and the FCT recorded growth in IGR while five (5) states recorded a decline in IGR at the end of H1 2019. The net FAAC allocation in H1 2019 is put at N1.20 trillion while the total revenue available to the states including the FCT is put at N1.89 trillion.

Ekiti, Gombe and Osun states made the list of states with the least IGR with N25bn, N21bn and N20bn, respectively

However, the value of foreign debt stands at $4.23bn while domestic debt hits N3.85 trillion at the end of the year 2018 .
