Lagos, Ogun FRSC get new Zonal Commander

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed a new Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) for Zone RS2, comprising of Lagos and Ogun State Sector Commands.

In a statement on Thursday, Mrs Ijeoma Ajuzie, the Acting Zonal Public Education Officer, said the new commander was Asst. Corps Marshal (ACM) Samuel Obayemi.

Ajuzie said Obayemi, who had since assumed duty, took over from Mr John Meheux.

“A new Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone RS2 of the Federal Road Safety Corps, comprising Lagos and Ogun State commands has been appointed.

“He is Asst. Corps Marshal Samuel Adedoyin Obayemi, who took over from Asst. Corps Marshal John Bekinbo Meheux.

“ACM Samuel A. Obayemi, has received several awards and recommendations including Excellence (December 1996), Outstanding Support (August 1997) and an award by Action Team Prayer Band Fellowship (December 2006).

“Obayemi has also served in various capacities of the Corps,” Ajuzie said in the statement.

She said the new zonal commanding officer had served as Zonal Commanding Officer RS7Hq Officer in Yola, the Public Enlightenment Officer RSHq Abuja, and the Deputy Camp Commandant, FRSC Training Camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.

She further said Obayemi had been an Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS10Hq in Ilorin, Sokoto, Bauchi and Kaduna States.

Ajuzie said that Obayemi was the immediate past ZCO, RS9Hq Enugu, covering Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu States among others.

“Currently, he (Obayemi) is the 20th Zonal Commanding Officer in RS2Hq, Lagos state and upon taking over, he enjoined all staff to be disciplined, punctual and abide by the FRSC laid down regulations.

“He further charged them to be timely with their report rendition, noting that every leader has its own style of leadership.

“He therefore, urged the staff to adjust in order to ensure a peaceful working relationship between all officers,” she said.

Ajuzie said Obayemi also solicited the support and cooperation of Officers and Marshals, warning that laziness and indiscipline would not be tolerated. (NAN)
