Lagos: Forum inaugurates coordinators, Exco in 6 LGs

A pan-Lagos indigenous group, Ibile Eko Forum, has inaugurated its Coordinators and other Executive members in the six local councils of Alimosho area of Lagos State.

The inauguration, which took place at D’Cubicle Event Centre in the Alimosho area of the state, was conducted by Barr. Felix Odusanya, who charged them to take their appointment as a strong allegiance to the liberation of the indigenes of Lagos State at home and in the Diaspora.

In his address, the leader of Ibile Eko Forum in Alimosho, Chief Taiwo Sangobiyi, who described the inauguration as the new birth of an umbrella organisation for the indigenes of the Lagos State most populous region, expressed appreciation to the dignitaries who honoured the event.

Shortly after the proclamation by the Principal coordinator, Hon. Bode Makinde, the Grand Patron the Forum, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran admonished the coordinators and the executive members both at the Local Councils and the ward level to remain dedicated in order to unify all indigenes in the state.

Jandor, as he is popularly called recounted his ordeal as a young man who wasn’t born with a silver spoon but was just lucky to be favoured by God.

Allaying fear over intimidations from many quarters whose objectives are to cause discord and to disunite the indigenes, Adediran prayed, “God will use them for our course,” pointing out that, “God does not people who don’t take chances in life as He only grants the desire of those who are steadfast.”

The Lagos State University (LASU), according to him, is doing well today because of the Vice Chancellor is an indigene who is not ready to dent his good name and that of his family”, he added.

Also speaking, the convener and the Principal Coordinator of Ibile Eko Forum, Hon. Bode Makinde rolled out the plans of the group to have at least one hundred members in each of the 377 wards of Lagos State.

His words: “Ibile Eko Forum is beyond partisan politics and political affiliations. You should go out and recruit more people. Make sure you are responsive and also lenient in your relationship with them. The Forum is for the larger interest of our people and dear state.”

Giving his royal blessings, the Onishasha of Shashi Kingdom, Oba Nosir Ogunronbi Lawal Babatunde, described Jandor as a rare but true son of the soil. Counting the gains of the people of Lagos State from Jandor Foundation, the monarch said, “only a true son like Jide understands our pains.”

Oba Babatunde gave his assurances to be at the fore front by standing for the course of Aworis in the state.

Aside the religious leaders from Christian association of Nigeria and the Forum of Islamic leaders in Alimosho and its environ, the Onimeiran of Meiran Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Samuel Awoyemi Adisa Oroja II also graced the occasion alongside the chairman of Baales forum in Lagos State.

The coordinators and ward executives that were inaugurated represents; Alimosho Local Government Area,  Igando/Ikotun, Mosan-Okunola, Egbe-Idimu, Ayobo-Ipaja,Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Government Development Areas, respectively.
