Arewa Community in Lagos State under the umbrella of Arewa Community Support Movement Sunday put smiles on the faces of motherless children at the Bab-El-Salaam Home located at the GRA axis of Ikeja, Lagos State.
The group, under the leadership of its Diretor-General, Alhaji Muhammad Maikano Lawal stormed the orphanage with various food stuff like rice, semonvita, semonlina as well as assorted soft drink, juice drink and table water in several bags and creates.
In his remarks on the occasion, the group’s Leader and Director-General, Maikano Lawal said donation of the gift items was borne out of the spirit of the Ramadan fast, the period he said encourages extension of milk of human kindness to other fellow beings especially the less privileged one like the orphans like the latest beneficiaries at the Bab-El-Salaam Home.
In addition, the DG stated that, the gesture was part of appreciation to the Almighty Allah who guided the country to scale through a general election successfully without any cause for regret reminding that, some exercises not as important as a general election had, in some climes put several communities asunder.
“It is also gratifying to note that, after the successful election, our choice, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Bola Tinubu won and was declared the President-elect,” Maikano Lawal stated, enthusing that, “the next thing we are waiting for now is the official inauguration of the President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29, to take full control of the country and expectedly move it forward.
While receiving the gifts items from the donors, Head and Chief Imam of the Home, Sheikh Hassan Tahir and his Assistant, Imam Nurudeen Bakare, thanked the children’s benefactors for the immeasurable and invaluable gift items saying “we are highly appreciative of the good gesture.”
While praying Allah to reward them abundantly and replenish their pockets, the two clerics beseeched Allah to accept the gesture from them as acts of ibadah (worship) just as they stressed the need to encourage such acts of kindness especially in the holy month of Ramadan like now.
