Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkarim, National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), has called on the Federal Government to provide the needed basic facilities for the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to enable them to confront the present insecurity challenges in the country, holistically.
Abdulkarim made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Minna on Tuesday.
He said that provision of modern equipment to the nation’s security personnel, especially the Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), would enable them to deal with all cases of kidnapping, banditry and cattle rustling once and for all.
According to him, the Government could only deal with the insecurity challenges through the provision of modern working facilities for the security personnel to perform optimal.
The chairman expressed confidence in the ability of the nation’s security personnel to end the senseless killings of Nigerians in some parts of the country, if well equipped and motivated.

“It is time for a collective action against insecurity ,find out those behind the acts and ensure diligent prosecution of the miscreants.
” We are all concerned about the growing cases of kidnapping, banditry and cattle rustling in the country and this is the time to act fast,”he said.
He said that the activities of the miscreants were posing potential security threats to the nation’s cooperate existence.
Abdulkarim, then, commended the federal government for its move to proscribe the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as the Shii’tes movement .
“We thank God and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for taking this bold action as Nigerians will go about their legitimate businesses without threats to their lives and property,” he said.
He called on Nigerians to support the present administration to enable it to implement it’s policies and programmes for the overall development of the country.( NAN)
