Kwara PDP guber candidate promises to patronise local contractors

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kwara State, Hon. Razak Atunwa, has promised to patronise  local contractors in the state if elected into office next month.

Atunwa, during a campaign in Moro local government area  in the northern axis of the state said it has become imperative to ensure that local businesses are brought into the mainstream of government programmes through patronisation.

The previous and the immediate administration have been roundly criticised by the people of the state for importing contractors from outside the for about sixteen years at the expense of the local ones.

He said, “You are all in politics because it should yield something back to you in return and the only way we can achieve this is to ensure that we patronise you at your local level.

“So under our administration we will ensure that we do that, giving jobs to local contractors who have the capacity for excellent work” he said’.

The gubernatorial hopeful who promised to run a people oriented administration lamented the rate of unemployment among youth across the country.
