Abductors of two football players of Enyimba Football Club and Abia Comets have placed a N20 million ransom on them.

The two players, Dayo Ojo and Benjamin Iluyomade, who are plying their trade with Enyimba Football Club and Abia Comets, respectively, were kidnapped, on Sunday, at Ipele, along Benin–Akure road.

They were reportedly heading to Lagos, following their teams’ forced holiday because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Relatives of the players have since been contacted by the kidnappers, who are demanding N20 million as ransom before they would be released.

Though they had demanded N100 million during their first call, on Sunday, it was gathered that the kidnappers later scaled down their demand to N20 million.

The police in Ondo State confirmed the development, but added that security operatives were after the abductors.
