The Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), a police unit headed by DCP Abba Kyari, has lost an officer during an ambush attack by suspected kidnappers in Giwa area of Kaduna State.
The officer, Inspector Mohammed Hassan was, alongside his team members, ambushed by the criminal gang, last Saturday, at about 4:00pm.
While the Inspector with AP.NO. 228061 died from gunshot wound, the other members of the team survived the ambush, and repelled the attack, while they successfully gunned down three of the Kidnappers.
A senior police officer, whose name cannot be mentioned, confirmed the death of the Police Inspector.

The officer said, “The body of the late IRT Inspector was deposited at Barau DIkko General Hospital kaduna.
“The family of the deceased has been contacted and he has been buried according to Islamic rites, on Sunday, in Kaduna State.
“He remains a hero forever as he died in the line of duty fighting for his country. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
