JUST IN:Bloody day at Shomolu as rival cultists clash, security operatives look away

Hell was let loose in Shomolu area of Lagos State, on Tuesday, as two rival cult groups engaged in war of supremacy among them.

In the end, several vehicles were damaged beyond repairs. It was gathered that by the time police operatives arrived at the scene, they refused to chase away the rampaging cultists, saying that it served them right since Nigerians have rejected the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

An eyewitness, who did not want his name mentioned, told The Nigerian Xpress that operatives of the Pedro Police Station, who were drafted to the scene of the incident, yelled at the wailing residents mocking that they should fight the cultists themselves having jointly rejected SARS operatives.

“It is a disgrace that policemen that came to the area refused bluntly to assist in tackling the criminals. They yelled at us saying we should go and fight the cultists since Nigerians have all said they do not want SARS again.”
