Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, on Monday, erupted in violence once again as gunshots rent the air.
The violence caused panic in the city as residents ran for cover.

It was not clear where the gunshots were coming from or who was firing, but reports said the Central Police Station, Onuebonyi, has been set ablaze by suspected hoodlums.
Police and other security agencies are said to be engaging the hoodlums in a gun duel at the time of filling the report.
