Judicial College of London to train Sokoto’s judicial officers

The judicial college of London in the United Kingdom is to train Sokoto state judicial officers with a view to further enhancing the administration of Justice in the state.

 This was disclosed by the state commissioner of Justice, Barrister Sulaiman Usman, SAN while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state executive council meeting presided over by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The commissioner explained that Sokoto State Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the college to train its judicial officers in the areas of information communication technology (ICT), electronic evidence, Automation of courts, judicial ethics and conduct.

Barr. Sulaiman Usman said that the officers to be trained comprised judges, magistrates,law officers and registrars.

He therefore commended governor Tambuwal for his intervention in that direction which would no doubt, further enhance the administration of Justice in the state.

The commissioner said that because of the clamour for a new state higher Court complex, the state executive council has approved contract for the renovation of the complex.

This according to him was because of the fact that judiciary is the corner Stone of human existence, hence the need to create a conducive atmosphere for the judicial officers for effective discharge of their duties.

In his remarks, the state commissioner of information Alh. Isah Bajini Galadanci said that the council approved the renovation of the state higher Court complex with a view to giving it a befitting outlook.
