Jigawa gov. assures on continuous qualitative education for citizens

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has assured of continuous provision of qualitative education through investment in infrastructure, human development and improving students’ welfare.

This, he said, would be done, through building more hostels in the state-owned university and providing scholarships to its students.

Special Adviser, Media and Public Relations to the governor, Habibu Nuhu Kila, in a release, said that Governor Badaru stated this at the opening ceremony of the first National Conference ‘COVID-19 Pandemic, Educational attainment and Labour Productivity’, organised by the School of Preliminary Studies of the Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa.

The governor also said that education must be tied to the needs of the society and therefore commended the University for organising the conference.

Governor Badaru also said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Jigawa State continued to pay workers’ salary and pensions as and when due.

This, according to him, is in the spirit of accountability, placement of priority and culture of savings as one of the cardinal principles of his administration.

He said in the last six years, Jigawa State invested hugely in completing inherited projects as well as initiated new ones and also facilitated numerous other projects and interventions from the Federal Government and its agencies in which the governor appreciated and thanked President Muhammad Buhari for his supports to the state.
