It’s official! Sanwo-Olu becomes Lagos State governor

....Tinubu, others present, Ambode absent

Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu has officially become the sixth democratically elected  governor of Lagos following his inauguration today at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, and oath of office 
The Governor, who was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, took his oath of office  at exactly 11:30 am, shortly after his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, was officially  sworn-in.
Sanwo-Olu arrived the venue at exactly 10:22am amid tight security along his wife, Ibijoke.
Earlier, the deputy Governor-elect,Obafemi Hamzat, arrived the venue in company of his wife, Oluremi.
Today’s inauguration witnessed a large turn out of top APC chieftains both at the state and national level,  white cap chiefs and religious leaders. id tight security.

Among dignataries who have come to witnessed the occasion are the former deputy governor of Lagos State, Adejoke Adefulire, wife of the former Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, Dame Fashola, the Speaker, Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, wife of the APC national charman, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Former Lagos State deputy governor, Femi Pedro, Women Leader, South West , APC, Kemi Nelson, former Lagos APC Chairman, Henry Ajomale, Pastor D.K.Olukoya, Alhaj Rasaq Okoya, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, among others.

In his speech, the Head Of Service, Lagos State,Mr. Muri Okunola said today’s inauguration is a defining moment in the history of the state. 

” As we undertake today’s statutory duty, it should be defining moment in our history as a state. It should underline our collective conviction that Lagos state shall continue to grow from strength to strength in it’s diversity as home for all. 

As we embark on the promising journey of the second half of the centenary of Lagos, the fresh start should once again, witness the time- tested tripartite partnership between the government , the people  and the most vibrant public service in NIgeria towards sustaining the momentum of growth,” he said
