The Imo State Police Command has launched a Police Tactical Operation Code known as Operation PUFF ADDER to ensure curbing of kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism as well as other violent crimes in the state
The launch of the new Police strategy was in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to all the states Police Commissioners in the country
Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Rabiu Ladodo, during the occasion held at the State Command Headquarters, Owerri, charged all field commanders of the operation such as the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and the Technical Team Commanders to apply their professional knowledge in the discharge of the operational order
The CP charged them to puff up, swallow ambush and strike out all criminals in the state and above all ensure that their conduct conforms to the rules of engagement
He advised them to work in tandem with Force Oder 237 and ensure strict and absolute respect for the rule of law and humanity in their quest to ensure that justice prevails at all times
He reminded them that the operation must be intelligencer led with proper surveillance and strict monitoring and supervision
The CP reminded that the intensive stop and search must be carried out along the highways coupled with constant and effective raiding of identified criminal hideouts and black spots
The CP used the forum to advised the people of the state to partner with the Command by providing them with useful information that will assist then in the course of the assignment
He urged parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to avoid crime and criminality as the Command is determined to ride the state off crimes and criminality
