Speaking on the second anniversary of the Ninth Senate, Ibezim lauded the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and the entire leadership for their sterling performance during “a tumultuous two years” during which the country was faced with hunger and youthful restiveness.

Assuring Nigerians of a better tomorrow, Ibezim said: “Mine today is to remind nigerians that yes, even though we have passed through these challenges, I believe that if we put on our right thinking caps, and continue to thank the Almighty God for saving us from Covid-19, we can as a people make a difference and turnaround this nation.

“I believe that even in this time of hunger and killings, Nigeria has an opportunity to look inwards and discuss more of the things that keep us together and less of the things that divide us.”

The senator harped on the need for unity and charged the senate to collaborate with governments at various levels with a view to making life better for the citizens.

“I congratulate you and the leadership,” he told the senate president,  “and ask that we should continue to synergise with the Federal Government and state governments. When there is a challenge in Zamfara, we in the senate should look in; we shouldn’t say it is a challenge with Zamfara people. When there is a challenge in Imo, the entire senate should look in; it takes leadership to try to go out of their way to synegrise with the state government.

The senator noted that the present challenges could actually be a stimulus for greater and better days ahead for the country.

“I believe we can make a difference in this country and I know that a great country like Nigeria may actually need this kind of challenge for us to begin to understand that we are a blessed country if we do one or two things differently.

“I will continue to congratulate Mr. Senate President, the senate leadership and the entire senate. I say to whom much is given, much is expected.

“Nigerians are actually looking at us; what we spread out, what we say out will be what will encourage Nigerians to hold on. I believe that all over the world, there are challenges and I believe that with love, with unity, with strength we can do better,” Ibezim concluded.
