There was confusion in the Imo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, the deputy Speaker, Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, was removed.
His removal was amid very tight security during the plenary.
The lawmaker representing Orlu state constituency, Hon. Ekene Nnodim, submitted a resolution signed by 18 out of the 27 lawmakers for the removal of Iwuanyanwu as the deputy Speaker.

Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Paul Emezim, who presided over the plenary, approved the removal of Hon. Iwuanyanwu.
That was not all for Tuesday’s plenary as the Assembly also recalled six suspended lawmakers of the state legislature.
This came four months after the Speaker had controversially suspended the lawmakers on what he tagged “unparliamentary conduct”.

The suspension which took place on July 8 had caused panic at the plenary as sporadic gunshots rent the air before the Speaker was ferried out of the Assembly complex by his security aides.
The lawmakers recalled were Hon. Kennedy Ibe (Obowo); Hon. Onyemaechi Njoku (Ihitte Uboma); Hon. Uche Ogbuagu (Ikeduru); Hon. Anyadike Nwosu (Ezinihitte Mbaise); Hon. Philip Ejiogu, (Owerri North); and Hon. Dominic Ezerioha (Oru West).
