Immigration boss, Babandede falls positive to Covid-19

The Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede, has joined the league of high profile Nigerians that have tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.

The immigration boss on Sunday announced that he tested positive for the virus and urged Nigerians to pray for him.

 Babandede said in a WhatsApp message: “Today, I tested positive for COVID-19. I have been on self-isolation since my return from UK on Sunday 22nd of this month with British Airways in Lagos.

“I urge my loved ones, Immigration Officers and Nigerians to pray for me and all those affected.”

So far, Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State governor and Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, are among leading Nigerians that have fallen victim to the virus.
