Ikoyi building collapse: Include us in probe panel – Lagos bricklayers beg govt.

The Lagos State chapter of the Bricklayers Association of Nigeria (BAN) has urged the state government to include them  in the independent panel to be set up to probe the collapse of the 21-storey building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

According to the President of the association, Oyebamiji Taye Dauda, while speaking to journalists, on Tuesday, at the scene of collapsed Ikoyi building, he said members of the association were ready to assist the state government to unravel the cause of the incident.

He attributed the causes of the Incident to many factors which he said can only be unraveled through investigation conducted by professionals and expertise in different fields.

Dauda implored building contractors to always use indigenous artisans who understand soil component of different location in the country, in order to avert disaster.
