The Ogun State Police Command, has arrested a traditional ruler (Baale) in Oose Agbedu Ajibawo in Owode-Yewa area of Ogun State, Rasheed Sholabi, for the defilement of his 15-year-old daughter (Name Withheld), and causing damage to her bladder.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been having canal knowledge of the teenager, since age 11.
Sholabi was arrested after the girl made a complaint to the Owode Egbado Police Division, lamenting her sex escapade with her father had made her lose control of her urinary tract.
According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement, the ex-wife of the suspect, corroborated the girl story.
Oyeyemi said, “ The victim told the police that she has lost her mother when she was barely two-year-old, and that the suspect did not allow her to know any relation of her later mother, which left her with the option of living with him.

“She said her father sexually abused her from time to time.
Upon her report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Olabisi Elebute, a Superintendent of Police, quickly led her men to arrest Sholabi.
“On interrogation, he first denied the allegation, but when he was confronted by the victim and one of his ex-wife who corroborated the victim’s statement, the suspect fainted and was resuscitated at the hospital.
“His ex-wife informed the police that she caught him while having sex with his daughter, and that was the reason she left him. The victim has been taken to Stella Obasanjo motherless baby home for safety.”
He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), for an in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.
