After seven years of losing her father, Nollywood star actress, Benita Onyiuke, has recounted how her father prayed for her to be a success in the Nollywood industry.

Unlike many Nigerian parents, Onyiuke’s father registered her at Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) when she was growing up for a career in the acting industry.
Going down memory lane, the award winning lead actress with Nigeria’s Achievers Award in English speaking movies dedicated her awards to her family especially her father.
“Being in the industry since 2006, from a very young age, I know how much my dad always prayed for me and anointed me, declaring that I was going to be a star of all stars. It’s so sad that we lost him seven years ago and he couldn’t be here to witness this turn around in my career. I wish he was really here to witness the level I’ve reached,” she said.
While commending her husband for supporting her career, Benita thanked him for his financial support towards her career.
“To my supportive husband, since 2016 when I became an executive producer, he has always been there financially, sponsoring my productions. He is a very big cheerleader of mine and whenever my movies come out, he is always the first to post it on his WhatsApp status. I know he’s so proud of me. I also dedicate it to my mum and especially my elder sister who is my most reliable support system, looking after my kids whenever I was on set and supervising their welfare.
Onyiuke expressed gratitude to her teeming fans who are proud of her acting prowess in many movies where she starred such as ‘Love in full bloom’, ‘My kind of girl’, ‘True bosses’, ‘Tender hedges’ among others.
Commenting further on both international and national awards she had won, Benita said In 2020, she was nominated for an award of Breakout Actress of the year while she also received the Nigeria’s Achievers Best Actress award in a leading role for the movie “Perfect Plan” in 2023.
