Group shops for Obaseki’s replacement, backs ex-NDDC boss

A socio-cultural group, under the auspices of Advocacy For Good Governance, has thrown its weight behind the former Niger Delta Development Commissioner, Saturday Uwulekhue, as the choice  candidate for All Progressives Congress (APC) to replace Governor Godwin Obaseki come 2020 gubernatorial poll.

Spokesperson for the group, Mr. Timothy Osagie, who disclose this, in Benin-City, Uwulekhue said they settled for the former NDDC boss after an in-depth evaluation of his unprecedented performance while in office

Osagie who reeled out a list of  Uwulekhue achievements as NDDC  commissioner in the state said the former Oil and Gas commissioner also brought his financial  prudency to bear as executive chairman, Orhhionmwon Local Government Area where he engaged well over 362 workers  and dashed out scholarship, bursary to indigent students.

He equally recalled that as chairman of the council, the former NDDC boss provided sports equipment to many schools, organised sports competition in order to catch them young, sponsored  youths abroad for international games as parts of his contribution to sport development

‘’We are compelled by these laudable and unprecedented achievements to call on the former NDDC boss to contest for the gubernatorial position come 2020.’’
