A group identified as Rochas Presidential Mandate Group 2023 has presented a N20 million cheque to Sen. Rochas Okorocha for the purchase of his nomination form for the 2023 presidential contest.
The group made the presentation in Owerri at the official unveiling ceremony of the association held at Lamode Hotel, Owerri.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the former Governor of Imo State, Hon. Okey Anikwa described the group as one of the interest groups that have come together to champion the vision of the Sen. Okorocha and to urge him to vie for the presidency of this country.
He said that the group demonstrated a general acceptance of Sen. Okorocha by all Nigerians and their willingness to stand by him always to actualise the dreams of Nigerians.
He said that Sen. Okorocha by his background and history is born and breaded in the North, empowered by the West and an Igbo son who is an embodiment of the project call Nigeria.
He said that already Sen. Okorocha has carved out a nitche for himself with the establishment of schools through his Rochas Foundation scattered all over the country where he trained children from different parents he does not know of.
He said that though campaign has not yet started, niether has Sen. Rochas Okorocha declared to contest adding that giving him a bigger opportunity to serve the country will certainly cap the vision.
Barr. Anikwa said that Nigerians beckons for a man who has what it takes and a lot of solutions to deliver the nation.
He called on the people of South East to together and speak in one voice to actualize their long expected dreams be of producing president of the country from Igbo nation.
He urged the zonal coordinators to take the membership forms back to mobilise as many people as possible for the actualization of the vision.
In his statement earlier, the national coordinator of Rochas Presidential Mandate 2023, Mr. John Onyewuchi Uba said that the mission of the group centered on the activities of Rochas Okorocha aimed at giving their holistic support to ensure he become the next president of the country comes 2023.
He said that the group have already volunteered themselves, coming from different LGAs, Communities in the state and from the 6 Geo-political zones in the country adding that Sen. Okorocha needs their encouragement to salvage Nigeria.
Uba said that what the group is interested more in is not about Igbo presidency but about the ability to lead the country from Igbo extraction which is an added advantage.
He observed with dismayed that Igbos are politically margenalised despite the fact that they have been agitating for their turn in the presidency.
On the N20 million cheque presented to the Senator, he said that they did that to encourage him to come out and contest for the exhulted position.
