Group fumes over Gov. Fayemi’s wife’s silence over molestation of two ladies

A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Justice For All Nations (JFAN) has condemned the silence of wife of Governor of Ekiti State,  Bisi Fayemi, over the plight of the two ladies reportedly abducted in a hotel in Ado-Ekiti and allegedly molested by thugs allegedly believed to have been sponsored by the state government.

JFAN said apart from the owner of GNN Guest House, Ado-Ekiti, Hon. Adedayo Akinleye, Mr. Ariyo Afolabi and James David that were attacked and abducted on Saturday,  October 24, 2020 that hoodlums armed with pump action guns and other dangerous weapons invaded the hotel,  two ladies, who lodged in the hotel were also abducted.

In a release issued on Monday, and signed by its Coordinator, Dr. Dada Popoola, JFAN said Miss Ajiboko Bukola and Miss Filani Oyinkansola, were abducted by the thugs, with one of them putting on only towel and was not allowed to wear cloth even at the police station where they were dumped.

The group said while being taken away from the hotel, the ladies were molested by the thugs.

While describing the silence of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s wife, JFAN said it was sad that Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, who claimed to be an activist and women rights champion has not done anything to ensure that the assailants are arrested and brought to justice.

“Mrs. Bisi Fayemi goes about claiming to be a feminist thinker and activist, yet,  two females and indigenes of Ekiti State that is under the rulership of her husband were molested by thugs, and up till now, she has said nothing.  This is sad, very sad!

“It is even more worrisome that the thugs responsible for this heinous crime against the ladies are allegedly being protected by the government of her husband and she has not been bold enough to impress it upon her husband to release the criminals to the police for investigation and prosecution.

“So what manner of feminism is Mrs. Bisi Fayemi championing? Is it the one in which females are abused under her nose while she keeps silent? “

The group called on women rights activists in Nigeria and abroad to take note of the situation especially regarding protection of rights of women in Ekiti State.
