Grief as mother, daughter electrocuted in Anambra

Anthony Iwuoma

Tragedy has struck in Nnewi, Anambra State, following the electrocution of a 55-year-old woman, Mrs. Patience Ugbana, and her daughter, 10-year-old Adaeze, in their shop.

The sad incident was traced to a Mercedes truck, which rammed into an electric pole after experiencing brake failure.

Though the driver of the truck was rescued unhurt and the truck evacuated, a high tension cable, probably due the impact of the accident, snapped soon after and fell on the roof of Ugbana’s shop, electrocuting the woman and her daughter.
