Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Wednesday, carpeted his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi, for saying God would give Nigeria a president like President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Speaking with State House correspondents after meeting with the president at Aso Villa in Abuja, on Monday, Governor Umahi had prayed that God would give Nigeria a president with a good heart like President Buhari in 2023.

However, in apparent response to Umahi,Wike on Wednesday said that his colleague had lied, adding that even Buhari knowd that God won’t give the country another leader like him in 2023.

The governor spoke at a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt, the state capital, while addressing business owners in the state on the controversy around Value Added Tax.

Wike bemoaned the injustice in the country under Buhari and the worsening security situation and  insisted that business owners in the oil-rich state must begin VAT remittances to the state government beginning from this month.

The governor said Rivers generated N15 billion in June 2021 but got N4.7 billion while “Kano produced N2.8 billionn in June but Kano also got N2.8 billion. Sometimes, you don’t want to believe these things exist”.
