Gov. Sule tasks Business Enabling Council on making Nasarawa attractive to investors

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has tasked members of the State Enabling Business Environment Council, on working hard to improve on the indices investors look forward to for ease of doing business.

Governor Sule gave the charge during a meeting with members of the council, at the Government House, on Tuesday.

The governor said this has become even more necessary considering the health and economic challenges confronting the state following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Nasarawa left with no option than to encourage all the various investors that have indicated interest to invest in the state.

“But before the investors will show interest, just like other states, you must understand that Nasarawa State is not sitting properly when it comes to the various indices that investors look forward to,” Governor Sule said.

The governor also urged members of the council to work hard towards improving indices such as property registration, building permit, amongst others, for which the state is seriously lacking behind, with a view to attracting investors.

According to the governor, investors are always looking forward to places where it is a little easier for them to do business.

“That is the essence of this council and as the name implies, the council is to create the enabling environment for investors to come in,” the governor stated.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, Special Adviser to the governor on Investment and Economic Planning, Barr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the Nasarawa State Enabling Business Environment Council, is focused on de-risking the state’s business environment, as encapsulated in the Nasarawa State Economic Development Strategy (NEDS).
