Gov. Sule inaugurates chair, members of Nasarawa Revenue Board, others

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has inaugurated the chairman and members of Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service, with Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed as executive chairman.

Governor Sule performed the inauguration ceremony at the Government House, on Tuesday.

The governor equally swore-in a member of the state’s judicial service commission, inaugurated part-time chairman and member of the Muslim Pilgrims Board, Director General, Market Bureau, as well as Executive Secretary of the state’s scholarship board.

The governor also inaugurated a high-powered investigative committee on the shooting of two soldiers by policemen in Nakuse, Toto Local Government Area.

Inaugurating the investigative committee, which has six terms of reference, Governor Sule said it had become necessary to investigate the incidence that led to the killing of one soldier and injuring another because of its implication on harmonious working relationship among security agencies operating in the state.

Governor Sule called on the appointees to see their new responsibilities as a call to serve the people.

He charged them to see public service as public trust and to let the fear of God and public interest take precedence over their personal considerations.

The governor used the opportunity of the event to also called on the members of the public not to out unnecessary pressures on public officers in order not to hinder them from carrying out their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, newly-inaugurated Executive Chairman of the state’s revenue board, Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed, who is returning for a second tenure at the office, said he is resuming work reinvigorated and energised.

Mohammed said having occupied the office for the past four years, he is fully aware of the challenges at the revenue board and that he is willing to restrategise in order achieve the target set by government in the area of revenue generation.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the other appointees, the Nasarawa State revenue board chairman, appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointments, stressing that they will not betray the trust reposed in them.

Other appointees inaugurated during the event are, Yakubu Ahmed Ubangari, as Director General, Market Bureau, Alhaji Lawal Abdullahi as member of the Judicial Service Commission and Hajiya Sa’adatu O. Yahaya as Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board.
