Gov. Sanwo-Olu declares three days mourning over Ikoyi collapsed building

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday declared three days of mourning in respect of lives that were lost in Ikoyi building collapse which so far have claimed 32 lives.

The governor also ordered lflags in public and private buildings are to be flown at half-mast while all official engagements are to cancelled during the three days.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the state government expressed it’s condolences to families of the deceased.

The governor had visited the site of the incident earlier in the day after inaugurating a Six-man panel of enquiry into the causes of the incident.

At the site, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the first responders and other rescue workers and promised to do all he can to unravel misery behind the collapse.
