Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has said that relative normalcy had returned to the state, and attributed the development to the efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.
“Taraba State is now witnessing relative security and peace; the people now pursue their activities without fear,” the governor said on Tuesday in Jalingo, when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai.
Ishaku promised to continue to support the army to discharge its duties in the state, and commended the army chief’s leadership dexterity.

“Your men are always out there for our peace and security. We shall remain eternally for such efforts,” he said.
Earlier, Buratai had informed the governor that he was in the state on operational visit and to inaugurate Forward Operation Base (FOB), at Gembu.
The state shares boundary with the Republic of Cameroon from the Gembu axis.
Buratai assured the governor that the army would always work with sister security agencies to secure the lives and property of the people of Taraba State. (NAN)
