A well-known British choir sang a lullaby for the still unnamed baby son of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, as congratulations continued to pour in for the royal couple on Tuesday.
A lullaby, or cradle song, is a soothing song or piece of music that is usually played for or sung to children. The purposes of lullabies vary, in some societies they are used to pass down cultural knowledge or tradition.
In addition, lullabies are often used for the developing of communication skills, indication of emotional intent, maintenance of infants’ undivided attention, modulation of infants’ arousal, and regulation of behaviour.
The Kingdom Choir, a Christian gospel group, performed outside Buckingham Palace, the main London residence of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“Love from all of us in the choir, we are so happy for you. God bless,’’ the choir tweeted.
The group sang the soul classic “Stand by me’’ at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018.
Meghan gave birth on Monday to the couple’s first child, a boy weighing 3.26 kilogrammes.
The royal couple expect to introduce the baby to the public on Wednesday,’’ Harry told reporters on Monday, adding that they were “still thinking about names.’’
“Barack and I are so thrilled for both of you and can’t wait to meet him,’’ tweeted Michelle Obama, the wife of former U.S. President Barack Obama.
“Canada joins the world in celebrating a new addition to the @RoyalFamily!’’ Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted.
Trudeau befriended Meghan while she lived and worked in Toronto as an actress in the U.S. legal drama “Suits,’’ which was filmed in the city.
“Congratulations, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry,’’ U.S. comedian tweeted.
“The baby is 7th in line for the throne, which is crazy, because right now I’m 7th in line for the key-making kiosk at my grocery store,’’ DeGeneres joked. (NAN)
