Gaza, PDP Rep reelected for second term

Representative Jonathan Gaza of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared winner of Keffi/Kokona/Karu Federal Constituency seat in Nasarawa state.

Dr. George Ganyi of Federal University, Lafia, who is the Returning Officer made the declaration on Monday in Keffi.

Ganyi said the total votes cast was 173,360 made up of 157,884 valid votes and 157,884 rejected votes.

He added that the number of registered voters was 256,951.

“Mr Jonathan Gaza of PDP scored 92,292 votes; Alhaji Jacob Okari Owa of All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 59,661 votes.

“By the power confirmed on me as the Returning Officer, I, Dr. George Ganyi certified that Gaza of PDP having satisfied the requirements of law and secured the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” he said.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the declaration, Gaza thanked his electorate for re-electing him for a second term. (NAN)
