Fr. Mbaka sends message to followers following protest

Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has dissociated himself from the protest that happened at his worship centre, on Sunday.

Recall that followers of Fr. Mbaka had, last Sunday morning, protested against the ban imposed on the ministry by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Callistus Onaga.

Bishop Onaga had, on Saturday, in his pastoral injunction, enjoined all Catholics to stop visiting the ministry till further notice and advised all Catholic faithful to pray for Mbaka.

Reacting in a statement he signed, on Sunday evening, Fr. Mbaka asked his followers to remain calm and obey Bishop Onaga.

“Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria is ever submissive to the mother Church. I enjoin all Adorers to know this and remain constantly in prayers for the manifestation of the will of God in the life of the Ministry.

“The life of the Adoration Ministry is in the hands of God under the direction of the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese,” Mbaka’s statement reads in part.

Also recall that last week, Fr. Mbaka had described the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi as being too stingy and unfit to be the next president.

Following the public outburst, Calistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese sanctioned the cleric and shutdown the church.
