Fr. Mbaka returns

There was wild jubilation in Enugu, Enugu State, on Wednesday, by members of Adoration Ministry, as they trooped out to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu to welcome its founder, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

Church faithful were seen all over the ever-busy Emene Road, where both the airport and Adoration Ministry are located. They drummed and danced and all trooped along the road from the airport down to the ministry grounds.

Fr. Mbaka, who is the Spiritual Director, of Adoration Ministry, went to a monastery in the United States of America after he was suspended eight months ago.

Recall that the Adoration Ministry had been closed down earlier in the year and on June 3, 2022 the Catholic Diocese of Enugu banned Fr. Mbaka from commenting on political issues after activities in the ministry were suspended.

Upon reopening, the Church turned the ministry into Chaplaincy to monitor the ‘excesses’ in the ministry.

In October 2022, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, had transferred Fr. Mbaka from chaplaincy to the American monastery.

Consequently, Rev. Fr. Anthony Amadi was named to replace him (Mbaka) as the new chaplain of the Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy.
