Falz hits Sanwo-Olu, says Lagos gov. selected himself, not re-elected

Popular Nigerian musician, Folarin Falana, otherwise called Falz, has described the re-election of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu, has a ‘selection’.

Recall that Governor Sanwa-Olu was declared winner of last Saturday’s governorship and state Assembly elections, having defeated the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, according to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Savouring the joy of his declaration, the governor thanked the people of Lagos State for coming out to vote for him, noting that he is deeply humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support and trust of the good people of Lagos.

He added that he felt honoured to be re-elected as the Governor of Lagos State.

However, reacting to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s victory statement, Falz took to his twitter handle to criticise the victory.

“You were not Re-Elected. You selected yourself. Everybody saw it unfold. You are only deceiving yourselves,” Falz tweeted.
