Ex-Imo gov, Okorocha to build Islamic university in Buhari’s hometown

A former governor of Imo State and now senator, representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Rochas Okorocha, has said  the Rochas Okorocha Foundation is set to build an Islamic University in Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s hometown.
The Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk, recently conferred the traditional title of Maga Alherin Kasar Hausa on OKorocha.

Isa Halidu disclosed that students of the proposed university would enjoy free tuition and accommodation.

“Because the Emir of Daura made me a traditional titleholder, I am going to give a gift, perhaps, that would never be forgotten. I will build an Islamic university with modern facilities under Rochas Okorocha Foundation and to be commissioned by myself in Daura town,” he promised.

The former governor recalled that the Rochas OKorocha Foundation had undertaken developmental projects in other states and would be using the university to pay back Daura town for what President Buhari had done for Nigeria.
